Martin Broomfield, trained as a graphic designer and started taking photographs while working in his company in London. His photographic work is varied, and typical projects include interiors and panoramic photography, portraits, humanitarian projects and corporate video.

Introducing access to quality mathematics learning content 24/7
Microsoft introduced Microsoft Math in South Africa, where it was a huge success. It was eventually launched in Tanzania. Mobile Math makes the learning experience personal, engaging and exciting. Students can complete math exercises on their mobile phones and work with friends on-line.
Martin Broomfield was commissioned to photograph at two schools in Dar es Salaam. The images were used in print material and on the Microsoft Math website. He also filmed a video with the assistance of David Vee.

The photography was used for large prints, displayed at the Stanbic Bank training centre, Abidjan.

Photography: Cover all aspects of the Ecohome project including overall images of the building, details and panoramic photography. Design: Produce a booklet in English and Bahasa Indonesia which follows the Holcim design ethos. The design to be eye catching and informative.
FASHION DESIGNER HANOI

Working with the director of the company and a stylist, the aim was to come up with an overall feeling of quality to go with the lifestyle products they were producing.
The photography was used in a printed brochure, web site, designed by Martin and for a magazine article for “Romantic Homes.”
CARE COTE D'IVOIRE

A project about the role of Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) in empowering poor women in Côte d’Ivoire.
The photography was used in print materials, a report and on the CARE website.
PONSO THE CHIMPANZEE

Ponso is a 40+ year old male chimpanzee. He was born in Liberia. He was orphaned at a young age and used in viral research.
In 1983, Ponso and 19 other chimps were relocated to an island, close to Azagny National Park in Ivory Coast. The ultimate goal was to release them but in a few months, 11 had died from lack of care or poaching. The nine survivors (including Ponso) were relocated to a smaller island. Five chimpanzees died shortly after this from disease or hunger.
Martin Broomfield was commissioned to photograph Ponso on an island in Grand Lahou. The images were used in newspapers world-wide and on a GoFundMe website, where money for his feeding and re-location was raised in a year. Martin also designed a logo for SOS Ponso and shot a video when Ponso was tested before transportation to another country.
ABIDJAN ZOO

From 2015 to 2017, Martin Broomfield has worked at the Abidjan Zoo as a volunteer. He photographed all the animal exhibits and designed signs and information booklets for all the animals and worked on social media websites.
PACE CENTRE
PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEOGRAPHY & EDITING
The PACE Centre is a school for children with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy.
The school was looking for funding, to build a secondary school. A video and still photographs were produced to help promote the school.
LIFE PROJECT AFRICA
PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PROMOTIONAL VIDEO
The Njia Health Center is situated in the western outskirts of Dar es Salaam. It provides basic health care (early childhood, prenatal, HIV aids, malaria prevention) and drugs to local people who would have to travel many miles for similar services. They also support orphans, providing education at a local school. The center is run from donations made by the Life Project of Africa.
WERKGROEP '72
PHOTOGRAPHY
Werkgroep ’72 is an aid organisation in Jakarta which supports social welfare projects to help the poor around the city. Its aim is to improve education, medical care, relief and shelter for street children and provide support and help the elderly.
The photography was used in project calendar, diary and website.
