From 2015 to 2020, poverty in Côte d’Ivoire was reduced from 46.3% to 39.4%. Most of the progress hs been made in cities. Proverty is still on the rise in rural areas.

CARE was at first involved in providing support in areas affected by fighting in the civil war. CARE is now helping to provide help to women, so they can create businesses, so that they are economically independent.

A project about the role of Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) in empowering poor women in Côte d’Ivoire.
The photography was used in print materials, a report and on the CARE website.
